Good Morning Neighbors,

The local Southwest Florida Water Management District (SWFWMD) representative contacted us this morning to advise that SWFWMD will be taking advantage of ideal conditions today to conduct a fully supervised Controlled-Burn today of less than 200 acres in the Flatwoods area behind the community of Corey Lake Isle. Smoke will likely be visible from most neighboring communities along Cross Creek and Morris Bridge Roads. The Controlled-Burn is meant to last no more than one day; however, lingering smoke may take a few days to dissipate. If residents believe they witness a continuing or apparently uncontrolled fire, please call the Fire Department or 911 and report it.

For further information referencing why Controlled-Burns are conducted and the precautions taken by SWFWMD to provide safety to both nearby residents as well as local wildlife, please visit the SWFWMD webpage:

Please pass this information on to your friends and neighbors and thank you for helping to keep each other informed of safety and security matters affecting our New Tampa area. As of this posting, this is all of the information we currently have.

Kind regards,

HOA Board of Directors via Local Authorities and Safety Representative
